Logic Systems launches 25th anniversary year with new High / Mid Power Line Source Loudspeakers
FIVE years development time comes to fruition this month for UK loudspeaker manufacturer, Logic Systems with the launch of a new range of cutting edge speakers.
It’s the first of several key announcements regarding new and upgraded product ranges the company will make this year, as it moves to compete alongside the best products in the global marketplace.
Using the latest technology and design, the powerful V-Line range features HPLS and MPLS models which are both compact and lightweight. Together with new low frequency enclosures, the new speakers will feature on the company’s stand at ISE 2018 in Amsterdam next month (February 6-9).
The HPLS line source loudspeakers are designed for high power mid/high frequency applications and require separate low frequency loudspeakers to cover the frequency range 35-125Hz.
The MPLS range is designed both for medium power, full range applications, and also for higher power use with separate low frequency loudspeakers.
All Logic Systems line source loudspeakers are primarily intended for ‘flat floor’ applications, where large areas can be covered evenly with minimum excitation of floor and ceiling reflections. The cylindrical audio wave-front produced by these loudspeakers means that the sound level only decreases by 3dB each time the distance from the loudspeaker is doubled, giving good coverage distances before the cylindrical properties are lost.
For example, the HPLS 4 has a range of 20 metres, the HPLS 6 is 40 metres and the HPLS 8 is 80 metres.
The V Line loudspeakers are pure line source designs that radiate acoustic energy in a 90 degree (horizontal) and 15 degree (vertical) ‘cheese wedge’ pattern. The best results are achieved by mounting the speakers at ear level for best audience coverage, which means they are ideal for ‘flat floor’ audience coverage both indoors and outdoors.
Now in its 25th year, Logic Systems has grown from humble origins in converted farm buildings to the current purpose built 10,000 sq. ft. factory in Gainsborough.
Explains General Manager Mickey Edwards: “Originally, we were an OEM supplier of birch cabinets to a variety of clients but soon we developed the ability to take a concept and turn it into reality in double quick time.
“Along with an ambition to take a greater control of the company’s destiny, that design ability was applied to our own brand products. We’ve earned an enviable reputation for sonic quality, craft quality and reliability. We aim to take that to a new level.”
While the Logic Systems product range has always been targeted towards a broad cross section of the market place including installation, church and theatre, the company has also developed products which give it an important, prime position in the Live Sound market.
